Instructional Style One-on-one personalized sessions designed specifically for each student. Instruction is led directly by me (Mr. Fitzhugh) — an experienced teacher who’s taught actual CUSD curriculum. Emphasizes relationship-building, tailored explanations, and real-time feedback. |
Instructional Style Uses a proprietary learning plan based on assessments. Students often work independently in a learning center. Instructors rotate between students, offering help as needed. |
✅ Advantage: Math Fitz-You Tutoring — Students benefit from focused, consistent instruction with a teacher who knows their school and standards inside and out.
Curriculum Deep familiarity with CUSD pacing guides and expectations. Sessions align directly with what students will be tested on in class or on state semester final exams. |
Curriculum Follows a general curriculum that’s loosely aligned with Arizona Math Standards. May not address a student’s exact classroom assignments or upcoming units. |
✅ Advantage: Math Fitz-You Tutoring — I teach what their teacher will teach… but I’m better prepared and don’t have to split my attention between 30 or more students.
Flexibility and Format Flexible scheduling, including online or in-person sessions. Can meet online, a public location of your choice like a library, or even the student’s home (with optional travel fee). Focused help with homework, test prep, or catching up — whatever the student needs. |
Flexibility and Format Set learning center hours. Group environment — students share attention. Less flexible with content or last-minute test prep. |
✅ Advantage: Math Fitz-You Tutoring — I meet families where they are (literally and academically).
Pricing Transparent hourly pricing. Customizable sessions, small group options, and discounts (like bundles). Parents only pay for what they need — no bloated programs. |
Pricing Often charges ~$200–$400/month. Locked into packages and schedules; hard to adjust frequency or session focus. |
✅ Advantage: Me — More value, no unnecessary upsells
Teacher Credentials Led by me, with 12+ years teaching experience (6 of which were in CUSD). Masters in Teaching Secondary Math from John’s Hopkins University and a Masters in Business Administration from Howard University. Experienced with elementary and middle school math, Algebra 1 and 2, Geometry, and Trigonometry including assessments they will take and the exact curriculum they will learn in school. |
Teacher Credentials Tutors may include high school/college students or general staff. Training is provided but not always classroom-level experience. |
✅ Advantage: Math Fitz-You Tutoring — Proven classroom expertise, not just content knowledge.
